Playground
What was lacking in the home was a playground where the kids can play properly. Here, some of our colleagues fabricated a playground with local wood. It includes two castles and many accessories such as swings, slides, and a climbing wall, etc. Especially the little ones spend a lot of time rocking, climbing, slipping and enjoying themselves thoroughly.

Every child takes care of a plant
In order to help the children learn how to take care of something, to maintain something lovingly and, above all, responsibly, we gave every child a plant for which he or she is responsible. They have to water their plant and treat it with care. Besides, we were also able to green our home a bit more.

Dia del Niño
The idea of an international Children's Day probably derives from the Geneva World Conference for the welfare of the children, which took place in August, 1925, and to which representatives of 54 different countries came together and adopted the Geneva Declaration for the Protection of Children.
In 1954, the United Nations General Assembly charged UNICEF with the organization of a Universal Children's Day. Each state should declare one day the Children's Day, which is September 10 in Honduras. With this, a global signal for children's rights should be set.
Of course we all know that many fundamental children's rights are not respected here in Honduras. But nevertheless, our kids were able to spend a very nice day with lots of surprises, a delicious lunch, cakes, gifts and piñatas.
Due to this particular day, the entire month of September was also marked by the celebration of the Day of the Child. Various church groups and companies visited us, so that the children were able to celebrate this day several times.

Midterm exams
It is unbelievable but true that this year's school term is soon coming to an end. This year, it is new that the students are not allowed to repeat exams at the end of the school year, which means that they have to get adequate grades during the entire school year.
The third midterm exams took place in September. The children were a bit tired and unmotivated, but that was no excuse for not having to study hard. Finally, the studiousness paid off, as everyone got good or very good grades. Up to the present, it looks like everyone will pass the school year.
